Resolution of the Board of Polish Judges Association Iustitia in connection with the shameful attack of Gazeta Polska at Professor Marek Safjan, judge of the Court of Justice of the European Union

The Board of Polish Judges Association IUSTITIA strongly opposes against the shameful attack of „Gazeta Polska” aimed at discrediting professor Marek Safjan, judge of the Court of Justice of the European Union. The attack performed by the newspaper, which is co-financed from public funds, reminds of the practices of Stalin propaganda. The action of "Gazeta Polska" is even more appalling considering the fact that the attack at Professor Safjan’s family and origins is in fact a primitive attempt at discrediting the judgments of the Court of Justice concerning the Disciplinary Chamber. It is worth mentioning that Judge Marek Safjan did not adjudicate the case.

We express solidarity and support for the exceptional Polish and European judge – professor Marek Safjan.

We would like to emphasize that Judge Safjan during all his life, including the years of his outstanding judicial service has disctinctly demontrated his patriotism and devotion to the affairs of the Republic of Poland.
