We are an independent, apolitical and self-governing association of Polish judges.
Our main mission is to defend freedom and civil rights, which are the democratic foundations of Poland - a member of the the European Union.
We have been operating for more than 25 years, also as part of different international organisations of judges. We associate over 3,500 judges, most of them in Poland.

IUSTITIA’s resolution in the matter of judges’ protests in Romania.

Polish Judges Association IUSTITIA would like to express its solidarity with Romanian judges, who oppose to the changes in Romanian judicial system that infringe judicial independence.

Our Romanian’s colleagues protest was organised in a legitimate interest of defending the basic legal frameworks of the judiciary.

Recent legislative solutions adopted by Romanian legislative authority pose an imminent threat to the judicial independence and consequently civil rights and freedoms.

Therefore, Romanian judiciary is fully entitled to criticize legal regulations that undermine the judicial independence.
