High Court Justice Mirosław Bączyk

Born on February 5, 1950. Graduated from law studies at the Faculty of Law and Administration at Mikołaj Kopernik University in Toruń in 1972. Since December 1990 professor at this university, currently chair of Department of Civil and Bank Law. Scholarship holder of French government and Humboldt Foundation.

In 1990 and 1991 he was the first Ombudsman for bank customers. 1991-1995 he was a judge in the Court of Appeals in Gdańsk and in 1995-1999 legal advisor to the President of the Bank Guarantee Fund in Warsaw.  He was also an arbitrator of the arbitral tribunal by the Polish Bank Association. He was a member of the editorial board of ‘Państwo i Prawo’ (1991-1994), ‘Prawo Bankowe’ (since 1994 when the journal was started), Scientific Committee in Toruń and Deutsch-Polnische Juristen Vereinigung e.V.
